Visit the Coos Historical and Maritime Museum store!

Our gift store features a wonderful selection of books on local south coast history, geography, natural history, and culture. The best recent general history of our region is A Guide to Oregon South Coast History, by Nathan Douthit (1999). Douthit has also re-edited The Coos Bay Region, 1890-1944, which was published by the CCHS in 2005. We also have a few copies left of the rare A Century of Coos and Curry Counties that the CCHS published in the 1950's. New books in stock include North Bend Between the World Wars: 1919-1941, by Dick and Judy Wagner. Two recent books by Bill Lansing are Seeing the Forest for the Trees, a great history of logging in Coos County and Can't You Hear the Whistle Blowing, the history of railroads on the south coast. And you'll want to see books written by Lionel Youst, Dow Beckham, and other local authors.

Our store also has a number of baskets and other Native-American items. In addition there are hand dipped candles, nautical gifts, educational children's toys, seasonal gifts, postcards, and more. Your VISA card is welcome. Remember that CCHS members receive a 10% discount on all purchases!
